Fix the key you have

A lot of “I need a new key” calls are a case or a button. If the key still starts the car, we keep your electronics and replace what is broken.

  • Button falling out, or taped on — new switch, from £59
  • Cracked or worn case — new shell, your chip moved across, from £49
  • Blade worn smooth, and the buttons still work — a fresh blade, from £35, on the key cutting page
  • Blade snapped off in the lock — we extract it. Details and the stuck-key prices are on broken key extraction

If the key no longer starts the car, repair is the wrong job. We supply a spare while you still have one working key, or an all keys lost key if you have none. We do not programme a key you bought yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

My key button is held on with tape. How much to mend it? +

A loose or taped button is usually a repair, not a new key. A new case starts from £49. A new button switch starts from £59. We move the electronics you already have into the new case. Send a photo and the registration for a fixed price before we travel.

Do I need a new key if the case is cracked? +

Not if the key still locks and starts the car. We fit a new case from £49 and transfer your chip and buttons. A new key, supplied by us, is for when the key no longer starts the car.

The key has snapped in the lock. Can you get it out? +

Yes. Extraction from a door or boot lock starts from £49, and from the ignition from £69. Do not poke the fragment. If the rest of the key is ruined, we can supply a new key on the same visit.

Do you come to me? +

Yes. We come to your home, your work, or wherever the car is parked.
